Malaria – for adults & children above 12 years – 600 mg every 8 hours for 5 to 7 days.
Chilren under 12 years – 10 mg / kg body weight every 8 hours for 7 days.
Night cramps – Adults – 300 mg at bed time upto 4 weeks
or as directed by Physician

Quinine is used in the treatment of malaria and Cerebral malaria. It may also be used to treat and prevent night-time leg cramps.

Mechanism of Action :
Quinine is an antiparasitic medication which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
